Dear Families,

Thank you for helping us get off to such an incredible start! Already this year, I’ve seen our students show kindness, excitement for learning, school spirit, and pride in being Roadrunners.

This fall, we have one of our largest sports seasons yet—over 100 athletes participating in cross country, boys’ soccer, and girls’ volleyball! We are so proud of this spirited group of student-athletes. A big thank you goes to our coaches and Mrs. Lenker for ensuring such a smooth start to the season. We look forward to watching skills grow and friendships flourish. Families and guests, please remember that district policy does not allow pets on campus. This helps us maintain a safe environment for all students.

We are also taking a few weeks to review and audit our school clubs in partnership with ASB. Our goal is to ensure smooth operations and offer activities that reflect what matters most to students. Stay tuned for more details about clubs for the 2025–2026 school year!

Some students have asked me, “Why do we have so many rules?” The truth is, very few of our rules are new, they are simply being reinforced. Clear expectations and safe boundaries help all students thrive. Below are a few updates that may feel new this year:

  • Cell Phones: Phones should stay in lockers and may only be used at lunch. Students are doing a great job with this!

  • Tardies: Students are expected to be on time.

    • 5 tardies: lunch detention with reflection and planning.

    • 10 tardies: after-school detention with reflection and planning.

  • Hall Pass: Our new electronic system helps us keep track of students during class transitions for safety and accountability.

  • Lunch: Lunch is both a social and important refueling time.

    • First 3–5 minutes: transition and get supplies.

    • Next 10–12 minutes: sit and eat (one person per seat). No eating while walking, on the stage, or standing over friends.

    • At 15 minutes: administrators review Honor Time options (outside, commons, or library). Food must remain indoors.

    • Honor Time is a “pick it and stick it” activity—once outside, students remain outside, for example.

    • Students may not return to lockers during lunch. Please encourage them to plan ahead.

  • Student Pick-Up: Students must be picked up curbside near Goodman. Walking into the street is unsafe due to traffic. Thank you for supporting this change.

  • Food Drop-Offs: Families may not hand food to students at the curb during Honor Time. If your child needs a lunch delivered, please drop it off at school before their lunch period.

I am beyond grateful to be part of the Goodman community. The passion and heart here are truly palpable, and I’m excited for the work we will accomplish together this year.

Warmly,
Stephanie Strader

Parent Portal – Action Needed
The Peninsula School District (PSD) uses PowerSchool as our Parent Portal and student information system. We recently upgraded how contact information is stored to ensure faster, more accurate communication in emergencies.

As part of this update, all parents and legal guardians must review and update their contact information for each student.

What does this mean for you?
If you do not update each student’s information, you may miss important messages from your student’s school or PSD, including emergency or weather-related notifications.

What should you do?

  1. Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal through the PSD website.

Note: Updates cannot be made through the PowerSchool mobile app.

  2. From the left-hand menu, click “Year Round Update” to review and update each student’s account.

  3. Please complete this process as soon as possible.

What’s next?

  • Once each student’s account is updated, you’re all set.

  • We recommend reviewing your contact information annually and updating it anytime there are changes at home.

  • PSD will send reminders each fall at the start of the school year.

Don’t have a PowerSchool account?
No problem—it’s easy to set one up!

  • Follow this Step-by-Step Guide

  • Contact our office at (253) 530-1600 to request a Parent Portal account letter with the necessary codes.

  • Remember: Updates cannot be made through the mobile app.

 COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION

Students in Mr. Marinelli's class play a game that fosters communication and collaboration as they find their way from one side of the square to the other following the proper (unknown) path.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU

Students in Mrs. Holsather-Nelson's class are playing a game of "Getting to Know You Bingo." It's great activity to learn more about classmates and seek commonalities!
