ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES

Activities/athletics are an extension of a solid educational program. research shows that students who participate in activities/athletics tend to maintain higher grade point averages, better attendance, and fewer discipline problems.

REGISTER FOR ATHLETICS AT GOODMAN:

Please register by going to Final Forms in order to:

1.) Create your parent account
2.) Add your student(s) to your account and select their sport
3.) Sign and submit your required forms to participate in that sport

This will complete the registration process and your student will be ready to participate in athletics at Goodman Middle School. Before the start of the season, we will verify that all required paperwork has been submitted.

Fees:

Sports Related Fees for 2023/24:

  • $20 for ASB Card purchase
  • Sports Physical fee varies. They are good for 2 years and are required for participation.

Physical:

Any student wanting to participate in a school sport must have a current Sports Physical (forms may vary) on file here at GMS. These physicals are done by a physician and are good for 24 months so if your student has participated in a sport in the past 24 months they do not need to be re-examined. Your family doctor may perform these exams or they are offered by the following local business(es). (Cost for these exams may vary so please remember to ask before you commit).

Tech Club Tech Club is a Goodman chapter of the TSA (Technology Student Association). Tech Club fosters personal growth, leadership and opportunities in technology, innovation, design and engineering. Members apply and integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) concepts through co-curricular activities competitive events and related programs. Please see Mrs. De Groot or Mrs. Rychard to find out how to join.

Robotics Club Robotics Club brings together students who want to practice their teamwork, designing, problem-solving and computing skills, all while working on robots. Students will have the opportunity to learn basic robotics, basic programming language and logic, compete on tasks, and propose new projects. Please see Mrs. Rychard for more information and to join. rychardc@psd401.net

Community Service Committee

Community Service Committee members will work on ongoing projects to serve our local and global communities. Projects may include donations drives, promoting understanding for specific causes, Random Acts of Kindness, etc. See Mrs. Kaiser to find out how to join.
